What We Do

•   We engage with elected officials at all levels, insisting they govern for the people, with honesty and transparency, by the rule of law.

•   We advocate for compassionate treatment and equal rights for ALL people.

•    We work to educate the public about executive orders, legislation, and policies which do not benefit the people, and may even harm them.

•   We use our numbers to send more significant messages to our elected officials via phone, e-mail, and post.

•    We support engaged local businesses and organizations over national corporations operating solely on profit motivations.

•    We endorse and support candidates and legislation that support our ideals.

•   We organize and attend rallies, making it clear to all observers we will not be silent about the crimes and injustices committed by the current government of our beloved United States of America.

What We've Done

June 14, 2025  –  No Kings Protest

Join us at 12PM, on June 14, in front of Newport City Hall or at Yachats Commons, for the nationwide, No Kings Protest.

May 2025  –  Waldport Food Share

Through collections at our May meetings, we donated 45 pounds of food to the Waldport Food Share.

May 20, 2025  –  Political Endorsements

We endorsed five local candidates in the Special Election, with three of them winning their seats:  David Cowden won the Lincoln County School District Board, Zone 5, Jon MacCulloch won Central Oregon Coast Fire & Rescue, Position 3, and Dr. Judy Thimakis won Central Oregon Coast Fire & Rescue District, Position 2.

April 5, 2025  –  Hands Off! Protest

We co-sponsored the Hands Off! rally, with Lincoln County Democrats, in Newport. By some estimates, over 1000 people lined the streets near Newport City Hall, protesting the reckless and dangerous actions of the Trump administration.

February 1, 2025  –  Jeff Merkely & Val Hoyle Town Hall

Even though IW had only recently formed, 20 members attended this town hall.  We introduced ourselves to our elected officials, and let them know we are here and involved.

December 11, 2024  –  Indivisible Waves First Meeting

Originally formed in 2017, in response to Trump’s first term, the chapter had been on hiatus. Faced with Trump’s second election, the group quickly refomed, and immediately began organizing.

Since forming, in December, 2024, we have made hundreds of phone calls and sent hundreds of e-mails and letters to our elected officials, at all levels, advocating that our Democracy serve all the people, rather than just the outrageously wealthy few.
